Proper nutrition has always been an important part of the Catherine Morrill Day Nursery philosophy, contributing to healthy growth and development. The Nursery serves two nutritious meals a day (breakfast and lunch) and one healthy snack including milk, fruit juice, vegetable, fruit and muffins or crackers. The meals conform to the guidelines set forth by the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program.
All food served at the Nursery is cooked on the premises each day. We select foods in the same manner that parents do: with careful consideration toward providing nutritious meals which are low in fat, salt and sugar and emphasizing the importance of fresh vegetables and fruit. Individual arrangements are made for children with special dietary needs. All meals are served family style with an adult at each table assisting children as they are encouraged to serve themselves.
